Neighborhood Lending Program Home Purchase and Purchase/Rehab   
Through the Neighborhood Lending Program, the City of Chicago and Neighborhood Housing Services provide first and second mortgage loans or the purchase and purchase/rehab of 1-4 units for homeowners who might otherwise not be able to purchase a home.

Making Home Affordable Program
If you’re having difficulty making your mortgage payments, you are encouraged to contact your mortgage company or lender to inquire about available solutions. If you need assistance housing counselors are avaialble to help you.

Reverse Mortgage   
Homeowners must be aged 62 or older, own their homes free and clear or have signifiicant equity in the property, and they must live in the property as their primary residence.

TaxSmart Mortgage Credit Certificate   
First-time home buyers can save additional money in federal income taxes owed by applying for the TaxSmart Mortgage Credit Certificate at the same time as when applying for their first mortgage.
