Affordable Requirements Ordinance

The City of Chicago's Affordable Requirements Ordinance requires residential developments that receive city financial assistance or involve city-owned land to provide a percentage of units at affordable prices.

Roof, Porch and Emergency Heating 

Formerly EHAP, The Roof and Porch Repair Program and the Emergency Heating Repair Program help homeowners make improvements to their homes. The registration period for the Home Repair Program is closed for 2024. Any future registration dates will be posted to this webpage.

Home Buyer Programs

The City has several programs to assist in the purchase of 1 to 4 unit residential properties in Chicago.

Small Accessible Repairs for Seniors (SARFS)

Formerly known as H-RAIL, provides safety, security and accessibility improvements that help senior citizens to remain in their homes.
